Hero: Ogilvy

Seth Godin has a post about marketing Heroes. Here’s a paragraph from his post:

Often unconsciously, we use these marketing heroes to help us make decisions. We model our decisions after the ones we think they would make. What would Richard Branson do? What would David Ogilvy do? What would my dad do?

David OgilvyAmazing! He got all three right. I do rate them: dad, Ogilvy, Branson but I won’t hold Seth responsible for getting them the other way around. Ogilvy’s books on advertising got me hooked to marketing, so he probably deserves more credit but I can’t dis my dad!

Anyway, looking at the trackbacks I’m not the only Ogilvy fan either.
